What is a Standard Research Contract?

The next step is to work with the researcher to define the research project, its scope, deliverables and schedule. TTBE will assist you to understand how University policies can impact the research plan. TTBE will draft a research contract, review the budget and ensure that all research costs—direct and indirect—are included, establish timelines and milestones, and incorporate intellectual property options. Companies (and other external research partners) can review the types of research contracts ; intellectual property issues with contract research and indirect costs of university research. Wherever possible, TTBE and the researcher shall attempt to leverage industrial support through federal and/or provincial government programs to support university/industry collaborative research.
